Year after year Philippines usually sends stunning delegates to Miss World yet none had the power to win the crown of the World. 
Many speculations have been thrown into the equation due to the crown drought from the controversies of Evangeline Pascual to that of Maggie Wilson, or could it just be as simple as none have won the approval of the judges or organization of crowning a Philippines delegate as Miss World. Last year I predicted Umali not to place due to my gut feeling Miss World would not dig her and that maybe the controversy of Maggie Wilson and others before conflicted Miss Philippines from advancing, it’s just assumptions which may not be true. Umali did represent Philippines well and even though she was not really part of the telecast she did look beautiful when she introduced herself only Perla and Marie-Ann stood out for me during this part of the coronation night.
